Epitalon / Thymulin

Peptide blend

Epitalon and Thymulin blend

Research context

This preparation combines Epitalon, the synthetic tetrapeptide Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly, with thymulin, a zinc-dependent nonapeptide originally isolated from thymic preparations. Each component is characterised independently in the published literature: Epitalon in telomerase expression models, thymulin in T-cell differentiation markers. The blend itself has not been separately characterised.

Common questions

Why is thymulin described as zinc-dependent?

Published characterisation reports that thymulin requires bound zinc for biological activity; the zinc-free peptide is inactive in the standard assays.

How is a two-component blend verified?

Each component is identified and quantified separately by LC-MS and RP-HPLC, with results reported per component on the certificate.
